Now that the game and it's system had been developed as a prototype, I needed to polish up the board game for initial play testing. What struck me straight away was the presentation, it simply wasn't up to scratch. To improve this, I polished the presentation and added colour for both aesthetic purposes and affordance purposes. The system that keeps track of the players progress and belongings also needed a dramatic revamp, therefore I redeveloped it using Microsoft Word. Both of these redevelopments can be seen below.
A couple of things to note here is that the board has had a slight modification from the initial prototype to the first draft. Now the board only contains two sections for the good luck cards. This was a conscious decision due to the fact that cash handling will be a large part of the game. Considering the majority of the player's moves results in cash handling, having multiple hands in the middle of the board at one time could slow down the game. In addition, the system has also been altered slightly - players now keep track of progress at the bottom of the page and all the item and venue prices are detailed. This hopefully makes the system much easier to use.
